    Yes, I put it among Indonesian recipes, as this omelette is made pretty often at various street restaurants in Bali. But originally it comes from China. Its one of the best omelettes I have ever had. All over that I have learned it from such a nice couple in a beautiful outdoor kitchen with plenty of beautiful tropical flowers around. Such nice memories.

    There are hundreds of variants of Cap cay all over Indonesia. You can get a veggie one or with meat, with various kinds of spices and sometimes it looks more like a wok and sometimes more like a soup. The original recipe comes from China, where it is usually more like a wok, but in Indonesia I met mostly the "soup style" version. Both versions are great, it is simply up to you which one you prefer. This one I learned in a small street restaurant on the east coast of Bali.

    I have always thought, that dried meat is a way of its conservation and that it is eaten as it is, meaning dried. In Indonesia I found out, that it is consumed usually cooked. They simply use it like any other fresh meat. They dry usually various kinds of fish and seafood like squid or octopus.

    This amazing Indonesian curry I learned in a street restaurant on Lombok island. Except for the very interesting cooking as usual, may be more interesting was watching the couple which owned the restaurant with a little shop. The woman managed to cook a few delicious dishes, get, carry and store all good from several suppliers and her husband was hanging around coloring his hair.....

    What I love most about this recipe is the consistency of tempeh. As when chopped really fine, it gets nearly crunchy. The consistency is according to my opinion the key success factor of the recipe. I tried the same recipe with larger pieces of tempeh and it didn`t work so well. Detailes always mattered :)

    This Indonesian style curry is special not only because of its delicious taste, but it is a typical wedding dish as well. Loads of coconut milk is needed for it.     I was always wondering, where is the green colour in Southeast Asia pancakes coming from. Now I know. Of course it is not an artificial food colorant. It is a completely natural juice from pandan leaves. May be you have pandan as a house plant in your home. If not, no worries, just skip it. The pancakes will be delicious anyway. Not only because of the delicious coconut filling, but rice flour and coconut milk in the batter make the pancakes light and tasty.

    One of my favourite specials of Bali in Indonesia. Satay made of various kinds of minced fish and shrimps with coconut and a pleasant combination of spices. Usually grilled by the road on bamboo skewers, sometimes on lemon grass stalks, which give to satays amazing aroma.

    This Indonesian recipe can be made of various kinds of vegetable. This time it is made of green beans with carrots for better colour. Easy and fast recipe from Jawa. Thanks to the short time of frying the vegetable keeps its crunchiness. For spicy food lovers an option with red chilies is possible too.
